About Me
My name is Saanvi Devabhakthuni
My journey into menstrual equity advocacy began after visiting women's shelters in India and witnessing firsthand the lack of access to menstrual products and the stigma surrounding menstruation.
I founded Project From Me, To You, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to providing menstrual products to underserved communities while promoting education and awareness about menstrual health. I have worked to address both the practical and social barriers surrounding menstruation.
Beyond advocacy, I am passionate about healthcare, research, and public health. My experiences include conducting independent research, participating in a cancer research internship at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and shadowing physicians across multiple hospital departments.
I believe that real change happens when awareness leads to action—and that every conversation about menstrual health helps create a more equitable future.

MISSION
Pink Tax Project gives free period products to girls who need them and stop unfair taxes on these supplies. We use education to stop the shame around periods so that every girl can stay healthy and confident.
Leadership
I founded Project From Me, To You to help women who struggle to afford menstrual products and to reduce the stigma around periods. I lead fundraising efforts, work with local shelters, and organize volunteers to support this cause.
My goal is to create real change through education, advocacy, and policy reform—not donations alone.

Research
1 / Research on Virtual Reality Therapy
My interest in healthcare goes beyond advocacy. I conducted independent research, under J. Kathy Xie, Clinical Psychology PhD candidate at Duke University. I focused on how virtual reality therapy can help reduce anxiety in adolescent patients before surgery. Through this project, I reviewed scientific literature, wrote a literature review, and developed a research methodology. This experience helped me build a stronger foundation in healthcare research and patient-centered care.
2 / Research on Menstrual Product Safety & Women's Health
As part of my interest in women’s health and public health, I am conducting research on the ingredients commonly found in menstrual products and their potential impact on health. This project explores the chemicals and materials used in standard sanitary products, examines current scientific literature on product safety, and investigates how ingredient transparency affects consumer awareness. Through this research, I hope to better understand the connection between menstrual health, product accessibility, and informed healthcare decisions while advocating for safer and more transparent menstrual products.
